Bitcoin falls below $80,000 as Iran fears hit the weekend ↗

26 Oct, 21:16 JST

Bitcoin fell below $80,000 as Iran fears hit the weekend. Oil and rates fell, bringing some relief before major earnings, FOMC and key data releases.

Editor’s take

Placing the decline in the combined context of Iran concerns, lower oil prices and lower rates is more faithful to the available information than attributing it to an isolated catalyst. Digital assets move like a morning commute shaped by weather and traffic news, as different signals arrive together.

Dot-Com Survivor Warns Retail Investors Against Buying the Tech Dip ↗

A dot-com survivor warns retail investors not to buy the tech dip, calling it “taking a knife to a gunfight.”

Movie review: ‘Your Mother, Your Mother, Your Mother’ ↗

26 Oct, 21:05 JST

An Islamic hadith appears in Bassam Tariq’s film title and throughout a father’s story of grief and faith. The middle child’s perspective shapes the narrative.

Editor’s take

The film treats a father’s grief, faith, and choices with unusual gravity. From the middle child’s perspective, religion and family feeling become a pot of conflicting pressures. This broadens private remorse into a question about how faith passes through a family.

Agent Update “Day 18”: Decisions API GA and OpenResponses Joins Linux Foundation ↗

24 Oct, 00:41 JST

“Day 18” reports Decisions API reaching GA, OpenResponses joining the Linux Foundation, and performance improvements, alongside Uber’s broad Codex adoption.

Kael wrote about this · 2026-09-12 ↗

Editor’s take

The update points to a shift in agent development from comparing models alone toward APIs, runtimes, and shared engineering language. Like vehicles for different uses needing different chassis and drivetrains, APIs and runtimes determine how model power reaches a task. If enterprise adoption lowers integration costs and makes work more repeatable, the shift has a concrete payoff; otherwise it remains internal engineering discourse.

Why Is There No Independent Record of the Resurrection? ↗

24 Oct, 00:39 JST

A poster says the Bible recounts Jesus's appearances but found no outside record of the resurrection. Non-Christian texts mention his life and execution.

Without independent confirmation, testimony cannot establish the resurrection as historical fact, leaving the claim unfalsifiable. Like a rumor, unchecked religious claims can harden into fact, while testimony can unfairly shape a reputation. Public discussion can test evidence and respect belief.

r/Christianity · u/Miserable-Exam-8455 · 1 points · 0 comments · Image I’m not here to attack anyone’s faith. I genuinely want to understand how people think about this. The Bible says Jesus appeared to Peter, the disciples, and a few hundred people, and then he was gone. But outside Christian writings, I can’t find any historian or record from that time that confirms it. Non-Christian writers mention that Jesus lived and was executed, but not that people saw him alive again. So my question is: if the resurrection is the most important thing in Christianity, why did Jesus only show himself to certain people and then leave? And why is there nothing from outside the believers to confirm it? Also, if this event is so important, why didn’t Almighty God the all-knowing Jesus Christ, with unlimited knowledge do something different to ensure that independent, non Christian sources would document it? An even better question: Why didn’t Jesus stay on Earth longer, or do something similar, to prove to more people that he was alive? I’m having an extremely difficult time accepting that the only source for such an important event as his resurrection is the Bible.

I was accepted into their creator program to make advertisements promoting these Christian gatherings. As a Christian myself, I was genuinely excited about the opportunity because I know firsthand how important Christian fellowship is. I created a couple of videos for them. In one video, I talked about how becoming a Christian can sometimes feel lonely, especially when you’re trying to build friendships with people who share your faith. I discussed how important it is to find fellowship with other believers. That video was approved. But then I created another video that specifically talked about JESUS. I discussed how Jesus shared meals with His disciples and how some of the most meaningful moments in the Bible happened around a table. I connected that to the importance of sharing meals, building relationships, and having fellowship with other Christians. Their response? “Where did you get this script?” I was told that my approach wasn’t what they were looking for and that I needed to follow their advertising scripts. In my experience working as a UGC creator for brands, many prefer original scripts, but provide scripts if you can’t come up with your own. So this caught me off guard a bit. When I looked at their scripts, I noticed something interesting. Rather than focusing on Jesus or genuine Christian fellowship, some of the marketing seemed heavily geared toward attracting single Christians. One advertising angle was essentially, “Tired of swiping on Christian dating apps?” Another focused on convincing single Christian men to sign up by suggesting these dinners were filling up with women and needed more men. Which is what a lot of the approved ads talked about as

Final iOS 27.1 released only for the foldable iPhone Duo ↗

Apple released iOS 27.1 for the foldable iPhone Duo this week. Setup needs a newer iOS 27.1 IPSW build with unspecified bug fixes and no security fixes.

Apple this week released the full and final version of iOS 27.1, but it is only available for the foldable iPhone Duo that launched today. iPhone Duo already ships with iOS 27.1 preinstalled, but users need to update to a newer build of iOS 27.1 while setting up the device, and that newer build is available for download as an IPSW file as of Thursday. Apple's release notes for the newer build simply mention unspecified "bug fixes for your iPhone." There are no security fixes. Apple jumped ahead to an iOS 27.2 beta for all other compatible iPhone models, and the iOS 27.2 Release Candidate is compatible with the iPhone Duo too, so all of the models will be able to upgrade to iOS 27.2 for consistency. iOS 27.1 was likely kept exclusive to the iPhone Duo so that Apple could prevent certain Duo-specific software features from leaking before the device launched. iOS 27.2 is expected to be released next week.Related Roundups: iOS 27, iPadOS 27, iPhone DuoBuyer's Guide: iPhone Duo (Buy Now)Related Forums: iOS 27, iPhoneThis article, "Apple Released iOS 27.1 for iPhone Duo Only" first appeared on MacRumors.comDiscuss this article in our forums

Roth conversions attract attention, but few people make them ↗

Roth conversions are widely discussed, but few people make them. Low uptake is no reason for FOMO; popularity alone should not drive the decision.

Editor’s take

High public discussion alongside low actual use of Roth conversions helps distinguish whether a tax strategy fits from whether it is merely popular in conversation. Low uptake alone, however, does not show that the strategy is unsuitable for everyone. LORE FIRST: rockstar put a nasdaq parody called BAWSAQ on the in-game internet in 2008. in GTA V they made it a real global exchange where every player’s actions moved the same prices. people coordinated to pump companies because the site itself encouraged it. it wasn’t background flavor. it was a live market. now GTA 6 is a month out and a lot of the marketing is already leaning into the fictional miami stocks and companies. the timing is perfect for the real version of that system. we’ve been building for months and the community stuck through all of it. we made our own launchpad on BAWSAQ so people can launch the fictional stocks there. every single one is paired with BAWSAQ. it’s live on the website right now. U can launch your own fictional stock today. it’s on Robinhood chain and PONS. we got vamped a bunch of times but we’re the only one that survived and kept shipping. the OGs stayed. that’s the difference between a name and the actual infrastructure. i think this can get very big. we’re also planning servers on GTA 6 where people can trade their stocks on the BAWSAQ exchange in-game. the same market from the games, now real, with the game coming back around. most GTA coins will fade once the hype moves on. this one is the exchange itself. the one rockstar actually put in the game and let players move. that’s the whole thesis. GTA6 will be the biggest game ever.

a16z Crypto Becomes a16z Frontier, Expanding Its Scope ↗

23 Oct, 11:41 JST

a16z Crypto is now a16z Frontier, expanding past crypto startups. Dixon says AI disrupts distribution and content. Ali Yahya separately announced his exit.

The rename shows a venture market chasing AI's potential to redraw online distribution. A broader mandate matters only if it creates durable businesses, not merely a larger label. AI is a new road map: the route must lead somewhere real, not just look more adventurous.

Faith post captures marital strain and grief through song ↗

23 Oct, 11:39 JST

Faith post: encouragement hasn't eased marital strain. He sings at home but minds neighbors; “Tears in Heaven” evokes his daughter, lost three years ago.

Editor’s take

The post shows that encouragement within faith does not automatically relieve pressures at home. Song functions like a pressure-release valve, giving grief a place to emerge while leaving the marriage conflict unresolved. Emotional expression is therefore meaningful, but it is not evidence that the underlying problem has been addressed.

r/Christianity · u/Fluid-Screen5223 · 1 points · 0 comments I often post encouragement and Christian stuff here and yet I always find myself struggling. It's my wife. She's really unbearable. Let me paint a picture. I love singing, everybody knows it. And yet I find it hard to do that in public. I even stutter or go out of tune whenever I do karaoke. I guess I'm just too shy. But when I'm home, I go loud. Last night, I was going loud, but not so loud and I was still controlling it. I didn't want to disturb our neighbors. Then I got to the song "tears in heaven" and I was emotional. I lost my daughter 3 years ago and this song just hits home. I was giving it my all really. Then the song "now and forever" came. I was singing it too and kinda picturing like I'm singing it to my wife. My wife was in the shower and she told me i was being loud. I said sorry and that I'm already using a towel to muffle my voice. I asked does she still hear it? She doesn't answer much really. Just keeps telling me I'm loud, there are neighbors, and everything. She wasn't pissed nor I was. Then she came out. Playfully says I'm loud. I kept singing and used the towel to cover my face. My face. So, that it doesn't come out loud. At least, not to the neighbors. Then my wife pressed the pause button just when the good part was coming. I was appalled. To her it's just a prank. A playful action because I was being loud. But to me, it was disrespectful. I was having my moment, and I was emotional too. I was reminiscing my child. And I kinda dedicated one song to her. I know she didn't know any of these, but it's just exhausting to be treated this way. This is how she treats me. And just last week, I accidentally sprayed water on her face. I was holding a lettuce and laughing at her and I gestured my hand downward like "you're silly" and water accidentally sprayed. She was very angry at what happened

Reddit User Asks a Christian Community to Pray for Their Mental Health ↗

A Reddit user said that mental health problems in the latter part of the year have ruined their life. They described fear for their future and mental health, worried that they will lose themselves, and asked others to pray.

The title of a linked report says French police could soon tag protesters with chemicals containing invisible markers that would allow them to be identified later. The supplied material gives no technical details, approval status, or timetable.

Someone suggested that because the majority of leaders (Nvidia, Microsoft, Google) are all propped up because of AI, the AI bubble popping would cause them to collapse which would then cause the entire market to collapse sending us into a depression again. This seems scarily feasible to me so i was wondering what your opinions on the matter would be. AI moves into the lab: drug development, DNA models, and tumor-data integration ↗

Combining AI molecule design with robotic synthesis and testing treats drug development as a connected workflow rather than a set of isolated tools.
